Product Quality – To ensure you receive qualified products, it’s essential to have all the technical requirements in a detailed, signed contract with the module suppliers. The specifications clearly define all the standard requirements and Build of Materials (BOM) material parameters. BOM needs mentioning in the contract with only a selection of 1 or 2 items. Ensuring that only the materials agreed to are to be used. In addition, commercialized product quality needs to be verified, ensuring IQC, IPQC, FQC, and OQC qualifications.
BOM confirmation – The BOM materials need to be confirmed at various stages:
- Incoming material
- Storage
- Material preparation area
- Workshop and production lines
- The distribution of materials during production
- Tracking processes visually and via records
- Manufacturing execution system (MES) system
- Verify all the BOM materials based on the supplier’s documentation
- Material test certificates
- Certificate of origin
Production Verification – USD uses the 4M (Material, method, man, machine) system of successful manufacturing.
- Production is carried out as per the standard operating procedures (SOP) for tools to monitor equipment SOPs
- Ensure the equipment conditions
- Recommended parameters by the equipment supplier
- Equipment maintenance
- NC handling
- NC product isolation
- Manpower implementations and it’s corrections
- Training
- Training records
- Various process parameters,
- Climate parameters
- SOP and its implementations
- Record verification and many more
- The primary role of a flasher is essential, which includes the calibrations process,
- Primary module selection and preparation,
- Mater modules verification of operator, and tolerance limits etc.
Samples and reports – As per the project requirement inspection scope need to be finalized, and the quality assurance program QAP needs confirmation, including sampling plans,
- Check items and test items, lot sizing, etc.
- As per the agreed plan sample selection,
- Sample sizes need to be as per the acceptance quality level (AQL) for each inspection and test item,
- Acceptance limits to be defined clearly,
- The sample pick-up process needs to be defined.
