“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
When arriving at Intersolar the morning of opening day, I noticed there were fewer participants walking around and waiting in front of the entrance into the hall. However, we can’t judge a book by its cover, as the attendees and exhibitors were busy. It may have been fewer companies and people at the conference than in the last 3 to 4 years but no one seemed less motivated to do business.
I spoke to several attendees and exhibitors who came to support the industry and take care of their unfinished business. Karlita and I were there for similar reasons. We met with customers we were completing contracts with or discussing details to figure out how to help them.
On day two, an obvious increase in participants were walking the floor and into booths doing business and discussing different products. Always an interesting part of every trade event is learning about new products or a better way to solve a specific requirement in your project.
As has been the case for a few years now, a greater emphasis on the combination of solar and battery power was prevalent. In fact, USD is working on the combination presently, starting to add the availability of battery technology (based on our customers’ requests). We are reviewing all the battery options and will have product available over the next couple of months after visiting factories to meet directly with the executive team/CEO’s and qualifying their production with our partner CEP Solar.
