HOW IT WORKS
HOW SOLAR ENERGY WORKS
A home PV system typically consists of solar PV panels, a charge controller, a battery bank, a battery inverter, and AC loads in the house or a connection to the grid. Here's how the energy flows through the system:
- Solar PV panels: The solar panels are installed on the roof or in a sunny location on the property. They convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity.
- Charge controller: The charge controller regulates the flow of electricity from the solar panels to the battery bank. It ensures that the batteries are charged at the right voltage and prevents overcharging or undercharging.
- Battery bank: The battery bank stores the excess energy produced by the solar panels during the day for use at night or when there is not enough sunlight.
- Battery inverter: The battery inverter converts the DC electricity stored in the battery bank into alternating current (AC) electricity, which is used to power the AC loads in the house or sent out to the grid.
- AC loads or grid: The AC loads in the house use the AC electricity generated by the battery inverter, while any excess electricity can be sent out to the grid if the system is connected to the grid.
The system allows homeowners to generate their own electricity from renewable sources, reducing their reliance on the grid and lowering their energy bills.
