Solar Energy

How do we continue Solar’s growth effectively?

Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.– Andy Rooney

If the solar industry wants to continue its growth, we should place our focus on innovation, accepting and inviting more entrepreneurs, inventors/inventions, and manufacturers. Placing our attention to deploying and supporting existing, proven technologies, adding new options, and finding ways to expand solutions will continue to bring new life and excitement to this business.

For the first three quarters of 2019, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that renewables accounted for almost 18.2% of the nation’s total electrical generation. Although less than their share of installed generating capacity (almost 21.8%) for the same period. Coal’s share of generating capacity in the first three-quarters of 2019 was 21.3%, while its share of electrical generation was 23.7%. The data does not reflect the capacity of distributed renewables, notably rooftop solar PV, which accounts for nearly a third of the nation’s electrical generation using solar.
“Adding storage to your system”

Adding storage to an existing solar array is not always an easy, plug-and-play process. It could be if the solar arrays were installed storage-ready. In the last few years, there have been rapid advancements in solar-plus-storage, making the change close to plug-and-play. Most legacy solar systems cannot easily adapt to battery connections. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible; there are just a few important questions one must ask before starting a retrofit solar-plus-storage installation project.

What are the existing inverters make, model, and age. Physical location considering climate and political environment. Why do you want to add storage? Who owns the solar system?
