Peace is a concept of societal friendship and harmony in the absence of hostility and violence. USD is hoping that diplomacy prevails in the present situation between Russia and Ukraine. In a social sense, peace is commonly used to mean a lack of conflict (such as war) and freedom from fear of violence between individuals or groups. Throughout history, leaders have used peacemaking and diplomacy to establish a type of behavioral restraint that has resulted in the establishment of world partnerships and trade. Gandhi is an example of using nonviolence to achieve political change.
Gandhi employed nonviolent resistance to lead the successful campaign for India’s independence from the rule and in turn, inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. The honorific Mahātmā (Sanskrit: “great-souled”, “venerable”), first applied to him in 1914 in South Africa. Gandhi is considered a peacemaker throughout the world.
