The American Dream through Solar+Storage, what is your part?

When I grew up, the American dream was alive and growing. Our parents focused on helping their families to live a dream where you can have a good job and live a good life. Then pass the opportunity on to your children. Has the opportunity changed for your children? The news and pundits often say that time has passed, but my view is through growing the renewable energy industries, a new door to the American dream has opened.

What you can see in the solar+storage is the path to building a safer, cleaner planet. Americans can help the world to achieve the same. We have a chance to reduce energy costs for every American and make available job opportunities that will pay a fair living wage.  Another advantage of solar+storage is that these jobs help reduce the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere.

American Solar Jobs in 2019 stated by, the National Solar Jobs Census found: The United States has 249,983 solar workers, defined as those who spend 50% or more of their time on solar-related work. The solar workforce added more than 5,600 jobs nationwide from 2018 to 2019. American solar jobs have increased 167% over the past decade, adding 156,000 jobs. In the five years between 2014 and 2019, solar employment increased by 44%, five times faster than job growth in the overall U.S. economy.

An excellent example of acting on the American Dream is the Prometheus Power Group, located in Utah. Today 10/27/20, Brok and I met at one of their 14MW development/O&M sites in northern NV. The plant is producing energy for SMUD, local areas townships, and another utility many miles away.

Brok is establishing the American Dream by acting on his engineering skills to develop and manage projects. Since my entrance into solar in 2005, all I have seen is entrepreneurs, managers, and line employees enjoying and building on our fun rollercoaster ride. We learn and grow each step of the way, and what a pleasure it has been to be a part of the renewable energy industry. What is impressive is we have tens of thousands of business owners, executive, and line employees helping to continue the American Dream. Giving back, not taking from…
